4 STEPS TO A HEALTHY-ISH LIFESTYLE

If you are anything like me, you absolutely hate working out. Even just the thought of working out tires you. Well, fear not my fellow lazy bum! Here are 4 easy ways to keep you looking your best without breaking a sweat.

Drink Up

Drinking just one glass of water a day can have a huge impact on your health. Our body is made up of about 60% water, more or less depending on your body size, and we lose some of that water mass everyday through skin evaporation, breathing, urine, etc and these losses must be replaced daily for good health. Not only is drinking water essential in keeping our water intake and outtake balanced, it aids in weight loss. How? Drinking water helps you eat less by making you feel full longer as well as boosting your metabolism. This is because water increases the rate at which the body burns fat, and promotes the breakdown and elimination of fat cells. So, how about you toss that can of soda and start drinking more water!

Go Lean

Proteins are best at keeping your body lean as they are known for their fat-reducing benefits. Since it is filling, the more you eat, the quicker you get satisfied which reduces your calorie intake. Eating protein also decreases the rate at which your body breaks down proteins and increases your body’s protein synthesis which leaves you with more lean tissue vs. fat tissue. Enough with this science talk! In a nutshell (get it?), your body loves this stuff and it helps you look nice and lean.

5 Is The Limit

I try not to eat dinner past 5 every night. Why? Well according to research, people who eat late at night tend to eat more. Now, I eat a lot either way so I don’t know how true this is but I do know that this routine has helped me keep my waist thin through my endless scarfing down of food. According to science, you are able to keep your waist thin when you eat dinner earlier because there is a long lapse of time between meals so your body is able to efficiently process the food you have eaten. Ergo, faster metabolism. It is hard to stay away from snacking at night, I know! However, if you must, just grab some nuts, they are protein packed so it will keep you from eating too much food late at night.

Shake it off

This is without a doubt me dancing.

I did say that these steps would be sweat free, however, in the words of the wise Fergie, “A little party never killed nobody”. Just crank up your music and dance till you drop. It is much better than sitting around watching Netflix 24/7. The next time you stand by your microwave warming up your pizza, shimmy a little. Have a little dance break whenever there is a commercial break while watching TV (btw, does anyone still watch TV?). Just move a little, being a complete couch potato is not going to help you much with your health.

These are my four steps to living a sort of healthy lifestyle. Now you may go back to eating your tub of Nutella. Just a little disclaimer, these steps are for people who want to maintain their current weight not for those who want to lose it.

Do you live a healthy lifestyle, if so what do you do? Let me know in the comments.
